Bob Manchurian (AKA Robert Dunson, or Bobby Dee) couldn’t hold his key sometimes. It was he who sold his house for Dale, to keep us out on the road after the Stax money disappeared. So he was allowed to sing the song I wrote “I begin to weep”. We wanted to make all the vox parts as good as possible. We lived in the studio for 3 weeks. Sometimes your ear will not “wake up”.
